The subject non-vacuum electron particle beam system differs substantially from other systems in commercial use. The central feature of this system is that the electron particle beam is generated and maintained without the use of a vacuum. Some systems claim to be non-vacuum electron beam systems, however, when examined, a vacuum is required at some point in the configuration. Instead of a vacuum, this prototype employs an electrical source in conjunction with compressed air, liquids or powered solids to maintain the beam. Accordingly, there is no need for vacuum pumps or thin titanium windows that separate a vacuum protected electron beam from an ambient target.
