Express Towing Provo, aka Knights Towing/Parking Enforcement guys were a piece of work. First they tell me that I cannot access my belongings until the insurance company has contacted him and guaranteed payment. I offered to pay cash, but that is not good enough, he doesn't even know how much the bill is. To top it off, he won't even tell me the address of the lot, so I can plan how long it is going to take to make the trip when I can come down, "It's in Provo".
I work things out with the insurance, find the lot (very odd address), and after about 5 mins being there he tells me "I gotta go, you can come back later." I say I am almost done, I just need the key to get in the trunk. He "doesn't know where" the key is.
I call this morning to see if I can finish. He says, "How fast can you be here?" I respond, "10 min." "I guess I'll wait", he says. He opens the gate, gets the supposedly lost key from the office, opens the trunk. I couldn't park my other car inside so I had to carry everything off the lot to my car outside. My first armload, carrying as much as I can, he immediately starts to lock the gate again, ignoring my first two attempts to tell him to stop. Now they are hovering like hawks wanting me out. Not certain I got everything now, but I am done trying.
It's not bad enough that my car is totaled, but now I have to deal with a predatory towing company that I did not call or select. It is ridiculous that the Provo Police department would engage such a
