I was pulled over in August of 2013, and my car was towed by A Excellence at the request of the Wilco police officer. After work that same day, I paid A Excellence the fees they requested, received a receipt, and drove my car home without incident. In May of 2014, I found out that in December someone sold my car for parts to a salvage yard!!!!???? I was told not to drive my vehicle, as it did not legally belong to me, and the tax office took my title from me and destroyed it. They failed to tell me who sold my car, but said that unless I had a reinstated title in hand, my car would be confiscated if I were caught driving it. I'm a single mom, with 3 kids, so this is a VERY big deal. Three weeks later, I find out that A Excellence had used my VIN # and license plate number when selling several vehicles to a salvage yard for parts. I believe this means that they first had to follow specific procedures, including the notification of the vehicle owner(s) regarding the sale of my vehicle (that never happened), as well as swearing on the accuracy and truthfulness when applying for a lien on a vehicle which they did not possess and to which they did not have any legal rights or claims of ownership. I'd be okay with this if Jose Ortega made an effort to remedy the situation but he won't even return my calls. When the inspectors, compliance officers and regulatory agencies start showing up, he'll probably wish he had picked up the phone and tried to make this right. - Erica K.
