An eye care center will offer optometry services which include eyeglasses and contact lens exams. Many of the newer tests for both contact lens prescriptions and eyeglasses do not require dilation of the eyes, which is what holds a lot of people back from going to the eye doctor for a checkup. Additionally, if there is a need to dilate a person's pupil or use a machine to test the eyeballs pressure, there are eye drops which make it almost impossible to feel any of the machinery on the eye.
