I want to highly recommend ActiveHome Inspections not only for their prompt home inspection service, but especially for their division of MOLDBUSTERS that solved a serious mold problem associated with the same house we recently purchased in Santa Fe.
Before our final bid on this house we needed to hire an independent home inspector to make sure we were making a sound investment. In fact, our mortgage bank required it. Our real estate agent made a recommendation for just one inspector but something told me not to always trust the first recommendation without verification. It was almost like they were pushing us towards one particular inspector without showing us a list of other inspectors to choose from and I have since learned that Real Estate companies esthetically speaking should only show a list of competent inspectors or direct their clients to Internet directories and allow buyers to make their own informed decisions. We come from the eastern part of the country and we’ve been exposed to situations with kickbacks and cronyism with bad outcomes and we didn’t want to repeat it all over again. So let the searches begin.
We called most of the home inspectors in Santa Fe that we found on the Internet and they all had a variety of backgrounds and sales pitches. We required a list of their prior clients and we were amaze that some of them wouldn’t accommodate us by claiming their former clients didn’t want to be bothered.
