I first walked in to Shree yoga Studio almost two and a half years ago having just arrived in the US. I was fairly new to yoga but knew the benefits it would bring at that stressful time of moving my family to a new country. Little did I know the amazing change that would come into my life from this first step. The teachers at Shree are wonderful, openhearted people who have a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that they share in each and every class. There is a broad range of classes from slow stretch, beginners through level 1 to level 2 for the experienced practitioner. The Anusara principles that are followed at Shree, of opening to Grace, of alignment and of a heart centered practice are lessons I am learning not only in my yoga practice but in my day to day life. They are taught in a clear and safe way (and also in a light hearted way, there is often laughter in the class as we try new things we may not have thought we could do). There is a strong sense of community at Shree and everyone is welcomed into the studio no matter what age or ability. I always leave the studio having worked hard, leant something valuable, with a sense of joy – what more could I ask for! Alison Simpson

2005 was a mysterious year for me...my health and fitness practice was expanding rapidly and I had begun an intense apprenticeship with a reknowned Bodyworker and Body Language expert, the technique of which had begun to repattern my nervous system and open my mind to a whole new way of BEING in my body. I needed a change, a way of supporting my system and keeping its integrity physically as well as energetically around the changes it was experiencing. Yoga felt right. Something powerful drew me to Shree...I had no idea of the depth of my intuition.... Through the years, Chaya Spencer and her team at Shree have taught, with compassion and strength, my incredible body what it FEELS like to BE aligned {the understanding of which never ceases to amaze me}. Their work, with intimate knowledge of the body and its many systems, the art of Anusara, the many different philosophies and systems of yoga and an incredible compassion for the humanness and Spirit in each individual brings a whole new dimension to the mystery and magic of the human body and the art of healing. The lesson plans each week always, without fail, speak the exact tone of what my body wants and needs to experience and the teachers seem to patiently whisper new life into my bones, my muscles, every single cell, beckoning for them to dance and expand, and ALWAYS shine a little brighter. The passion and Love that the team, as well as the students at Shree exhibit, for the body, for the mind and for Life itself {if you

I am sad to say that I am much much closer to 70 than 65! I am happy to say that because of Shree Yoga I am able to do everything I want to do in life with enthusiasm and enjoyment. I still work, teach and persue my art full time. In my heart of hearts I believe my ability is due to yoga, and in particular Chaya's ( the owner - director ) ability to encourage an older and partially handicapped student to complete involvement. Shree yoga is more then a class in yoga....it is a community of support. Never be concerned that your involvement in yoga DEMANDS getting into difficult positions before your body is ready. There are classes here for every level of need. From "slow stretch" and "therapeutic" to advanced classes....it is ALL here. In my pain management practice I refer patients to yoga on a regular basis to control stress related pain. There is no better place to reduce stress then here!
