We cannot praise Dr. Scavelli and the entire staff at Garden State Veterinary Specialists enough. After rushing from our local in the Atlantic City area and driving the 60 miles to take our 12 old Jack Russell, Molly to GSVS, we couldn’t be more ecstatic with the overall outcome. Our dog Molly was in severe pain and had a critically high fever. Our trusted local vet was extremely concerned and recommended we take her to GSVS immediately. While at GSVS Molly underwent many tests, but we never felt that any of the tests were not warranted to diagnosis her painful condition. The caring, truly concerned medical staff diagnosed Molly with an immune mediated disease. While there, Molly’s larynx muscle that allows air into the lungs and food into the stomach became paralyzed. The surgeon called us and explained the situation, and performed an emergency laryngeal tieback, keeping her from suffocating herself to death. The companionate staff saved Molly’s life, correctly diagnosing two major issues, and correcting them both. When we called, day, or late night, we were always well informed of Molly's condition. We never felt rushed and all of our questions and concerns were answered. The entire medical staff understood that Molly is our baby, not just a dog. Molly's recovery is going very well, thanks to the excellent care provided by the entire staff at GSVS!

HATS OFF TO Dr Scavelli, Gail and the Garden State Vet Team!!!! Dr Scavelli is the absolute best in every way. He is creating miracles every day. Every person on the Garden State Vet Team is amazing. They are customer service oriented to both the parents and the pets. They really care about every patient. They go the extra mile all of the time. This is our second dog under GSVS’s care. Our dog, Scooby, had hip replacement surgery last week. We had a fantastic experience. They made everything seamless. We are thrilled to report Scooby is home, using his new titanium hip. None of this would be possible without Dr Scavelli and the GSVS Team. Dr Scavelli is amazing. We are forever grateful to Dr. Scavelli and team. We will be back in a few months to replace his other hip!

Our family lovingly refers to Dr. Scavelli as “The Miracle Worker” for the lifesaving back operation that he did for our dog, Chip ten years ago. He became paralyzed because of a back problem and we had gone to a few vets who said our only option was putting him down, and since he was only 8 years old and in otherwise good health, (not to mention a huge part of our family) we kept trying. One Vet that we had gone to said “The only Dr. who can possibly save your dog is in Tinton Falls, NJ.” We bundled our little guy up and went to Dr. Scavelli who performed an emergency Laminectomy. Not only was our dog saved, but he was able to walk within a few months. Dr. Scavelli is professional, kind and informative. He’s the only Dr. I would trust our animal to in a life threatening emergency.
