A trip to the basement doesn’t usually come to mind when one thinks about inspiring moments. However, when I wander down into what used to serve as the coal cellar in my nearly 100 year old house, I do indeed find myself in awe. There displayed is the work of a crew from Commonwealth Services put into place to support the whole house generator we recently had installed. The engineering complexity, the eloquent design and arrangement of components, the shear neatness and order all combined with a pristine cleanliness and overall appearance is a pleasure to behold. The new contents of my basement are equaled by the outdoor facets of the generator system. The placement of the generator itself, the orderly design of the various gas and electrical lines and the provision of extra safety and convenience valves all reflect a premium priority for the customer’s expectations. The installation is minimally invasive and served to keep costs down. As amazing as the technical design and workmanship were, even that was surpassed by the professionalism, personal consideration and courtesy of the staff. From owner Chase Tunnell, who came by personally to check on the project, to Mark Gardner, the project coordinator, to the workmen, to the public relations representative, we were treated with consummate respect and deference. No request of ours went unmet. It was a reminder of the days in America when the “customer is always right.” Every detail was meticulously addressed.
