We hired Sunset Hill Design and Carl Sherblom in 2023 for septic design and permitting and paid 1800 dollars. The check memo clearly stated site design and permit septic. Over the next two to three years, we were repeatedly told that the septic application had been submitted and was good to go pending a Shoreland permit. In 2026, we confirmed directly with NHDES that there is no septic application on file for our property and no record of any application fee being submitted. When we asked for proof or a refund, none was provided. In text messages, Carl stated that we should go ahead and sue him and that he did not want to finish the work. We have now filed a small claims case. If you are considering using this company, make sure you get everything in writing and verify that any applications are actually submitted.
