There are over 6 miles of trails built on a network of ridges and depressions formed by glaciers. The trails are well marked so you can choose your level of terrain difficulty. Counting our beautiful lake, there are 11 other lakes in the immediate area surrounding our park. Currently, Matanuska Lake has arctic char, rainbow trout, land-lock silver salmon and grayling fishing year round. Alaska outdoor safety courses provided through North America Outdoor Institute (NAOI) are held on site year round. Topics include mega flora fauna, orienteering, navigation, safe glacier travel, wilderness first aid, Wilderness First Responder (WFR), and more.
