Wes earned his Captain's license in 1993 after over 7 years at sea on Coast Guard Cutters, Patrol Boats and Life Boats, serving at coastal Search and Rescue stations. After the Coast Guard, Wes earned his Bachelors Degree (Historic Preservation) and Masters Degree (Business Administration) from the University of Mary Washington and has, until recently retiring, worked as the Public Works Director and Town Manager for a small, Central Virginia town. Wes and his wife Danielle moved to the Middle Peninsula to follow their love of the Chesapeake Bay and open ocean. Together, they have owned and operated several boats including a 35’ DuFour sloop that they lived aboard and sailed in the Caribbean, East, West and Gulf Coast of the United States.
