Most importantly, it prepares them for what a violent attack really is, which is personal attention gone horribly wrong. When you get the right kind of personal attention, you get the right kind of training. When this happens, you learn how to see yourself through the eyes of an attacker. By doing this, you learn how to minimize the chance of being chosen as a victim. You also get real practice. You don’t have to wait a large portion of the class just to get a chance to hit a bag or pad that won’t fight back. You get live, interactive training involving real pressure and real contact.
