Our products and services are for individuals and companies that want to improve their environment, health, and quality of life. Everything we do follows the “3G” criteria: 1. Good for people 2. Good for the planet 3. Good for the local and global community. All products are made from safe materials, preference is given to locally grown and made goods, and sustainability is always our priority.
Many cleaning products that may be under YOUR kitchen sink are significantly comprised of mutagens, carcinogens, and neurotoxins. The chemical compositions also have shown to negatively affect the endocrine system (hormones), fetal development, and immune function.
These toxic chemicals have long latency periods due to bioaccumulation. (The storing of toxins in the fatty tissue over time). Bioaccumulation of toxic chemicals is very dangerous. Examples of chemicals found in many everyday cleaning products include: chlorine, dioxin, and petroleum based “chemical cocktails”. Chlorine releases trace amounts of mercury, an easily inhaled toxic metal that adversely affects the brain, spinal cord, liver, and fetal development. Chlorine is an irritant to the skin, eyes, and lungs and causes asthma, bronchitis, tuberculosis, and emphysema
These toxic chemicals may not affect you today, (not to discredit the short term effects of headaches, allergies, and cough) but we are seeing the long-term affects in the following ways:
Autism spectrum disorder rates have increased from 1 in 10,000 to 1 in 150.
Childhood cancers (including brain tumors) have increased 21 percent since 1975 and the national cancer institute estimates these rates to grow an additional 1 percent every year.
There has also been a 6 times increase in ADHD in the last decade, and asthma rates have nearly doubled in the last twenty years (leading cause of emergency room visits and absences from school.
Simple solutions include educating yourself and not confusing familiarity with safety.
Ignorance is not bliss and, although we wonder why the rates of these various health problems have quadrupled, many still stick to the claim “our grandma raised us on it and we survived”.
We may have, but our children and future generations are suffering. Using readily biodegradable, naturally derived materials that are free of known or suspected carcinogenic substances and synthetic chemicals can significantly decrease ours and our children’s toxic chemical exposure.
