Maintenance Plus by Jeffrey Simonds contacted us through an ad we placed for a crew to lead in the setup of a Children's Festival and fundraiser that we organize. In the beginning I got that warm fuzzy feeling of assurance that we'd gone with the right crew; They were very reassuring that they had veterans and experienced people whom had done events and setup/teardown before. We had prepared an expected man-hour breakdown due to an issue with the company we'd hired the previous year. I used this tool to discuss the necessary manning of his crew (though I clearly stated that it was a suggestion). We clearly stated that we were ESTIMATING the manning-requirements and would need him and his team to assess the actual needed man-power. During the setup days we were riddled with bad weather the first day and cold the second. Jeff was to be the production team leader, but came with less than the agreed man-power and no concept of the setup as we had previously discussed in great detail. His brother caused a huge commotion and interruption to work with a profanity riddled monologue. THEN he and his crew left early each day and would not return phone calls. He blamed our poor planning for them leaving but Maintenance Plus just wasn't able to deliver in the manner they promised. Sure they can do work when its simpler in nature but don't put them in the lead for any kind of work you may have lined up. We were better off just hiring labor on CL.
