Unity of AV has been in the valley for over 40 years. It is on its last legs now as the current pastor and board have sold the church property in order to pay the minister. They are now temporarily housed at the Hilton Inn because they are trying to attract the well-heeled people from West Palmdale in a last-ditch effort to survive as a church. The reason they are failing is because of the overbearing control exerted over all activities by the pastor. In addition, this pastor preaches the benefits of treating others with kindness, yet herself treats those that are of no use to her with cruelty. This church was founded and supported by a forward-thinking group of people who wanted to study the teachings and accept the followers of all religions. Sadly, as they have aged many have left Unity of AV over disputes with the current pastor. This is a church where there is an internal conflict that is evident on the faces of the few attendees that go there. One of the first things they ask visitors is what they do for a living and then try to get their emails and phone numbers.
