Criminal, DUI and traffic defense firm led by former Pittsburgh prosecutor (ADA) and experienced trial attorney. Let us level the playing field. My name is Dave Zuckerman, and I am a Pittsburgh based criminal DUI and traffic defense attorney. What sets me apart from most other Pittsburgh attorneys is my experience working in all three phases of the criminal justice system: the judiciary, the prosecution, and the defense. Upon graduating from law school, I worked as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Judge Gregory A. Olson in Indiana County, PA. Through this position, I developed first-hand experience working with a criminal and civil judge in analyzing arguments presented by DA's, defense attorneys, and opposing civil attorneys. From 2009-2013, I served as an Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney in the General Trial Unit, the most active trial division in the office. I was independently responsible for prosecuting between 200 to 400 felony and misdemeanor cases annually, and have litigated hundreds of preliminary hearings. As an active trial attorney, I served as lead counsel on approximately 60 jury and non-jury trials, obtaining convictions in roughly 80% of jury verdicts. During my time there, I provided guidance to police departments on conducting criminal investigations and making charging decisions. After leaving the DA’s office, I worked for a small personal injury firm in the Pittsburgh area, focusing my practice on criminal defense and personal injury litigation. In this capacity, I defended my clients in state courts throughout Western Pennsylvania. I also negotiated financial settlements for clients injured by negligent drivers in auto accidents. Please note that the Zuckerman Law Firm also handles estate planning for individuals, married and unmarried couples. Through my own family tragedies, I have seen how aging, mental illness, and physical illness impacts families. My grandmother was subjected to physical abuse at a nursing home. When my mother passed away in 2009, I learned first-hand how proper financial planning can provide some degree of comfort to surviving relatives. I am passionate about working with families during the most difficult of circumstances.
