I conduct the monitoring and an accredited lab will provide the analysis. Walk-through audits of your facilities. Audits are for the benefit of the employer and findings are not discussed outside of the organization. Audits can include periodic inspections of construction sites. Written program development. Many programs are required by various regulations and many are site-specific. Programs include, but are not limited to: respiratory protection, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, confined spaces, blood borne pathogen exposure control, chemical hygiene, fall protection, scaffolding, excavation and trenches, and many more. Assistance in negotiating with VOSH/OSHA in the event of citations with penalties. During an informal conference with VOSH/OSHA, penalties can often be vacated or reduced based on good faith efforts, interpretations of standards and applicability, or if that fails, contesting the citations if they were incorrectly cited. Services can be one-time events, or perhaps more economical, a yearly package service including all of the above though the lab costs are not included. Not only is the annual service much less inexpensive than hiring a full-time safety and health professional, you may find it helps lower your workers compensation insurance rates. These services can also supplement your existing safety manager's efforts, particularly in the area of industrial hygiene. Annual costs will range between $6000 to $12000, depending on employer size and complexity of need. Services are provided by Dennis O. Childress, Certified Industrial Hygiene Manager (CIHM) with 25 years of experience as a Virginia Occupational Safety and Health Compliance Officer. Dennis also has worked with the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation as an Industrial Hygienist and trainer. He is an Authorized Trainer for the OSHA 10 and 30 hour courses in both construction and general industry. Dennis served as a past VOSH/OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) team member and knows how to prepare your company for VPP awards, if such is your desire.
