Our success is all about building trust with my hiring managers and the recruited talent that I connect them with. About Geary Kornelik & Associates Geary Kornelik & Associates is a search and placement firm based here in Chicago that truly is "By bankers, for bankers". Our firm is made up entirely of former senior bank management with well over 40 years of industry specific experience. We truly understand where you are and we know exactly how to get you to where you want to go in your banking career. We will accomplish this by getting to know you in order to fully understanding the concerns you have in your current role as well as providing you the opportunity to speak with a bank that will not only eliminate these concerns, but will gladly provide you an opportunity to fully utilize your skill for the benefit for everyone involved. A message for bank CEOs. Please consider Robert Townsend's words from his outstanding book Up the Organization. Townsend was an outrageously successful, very straightforward CEO with American Express and Avis Rent-A-Car. Here is what he said in his one-page chapter entitled "Headhunters". "Occasionally you may have to go outside to fill an opening. If you use a headhunter, go to the trouble of writing out your description of just the man you need (in your own words, not job description boiler-plate). When he sends someone for an interview, spend some time with him, even if at first glance he's not what you're looking for. Then call up your headhunter tell him in some detail where he's on target and where he's off. Do this after each candidate. Pretty soon he'll zero in and start sending you the kind of people you want to choose from."
