We are a young family, who recently moved to Montana and hired Garret Melton and JDC Construction to build our home. Garret is a terrible communicator, blatantly dishonest and has no knowledge for quality carpentry work. We have hired new carpenters that discovered our foundation is 9 plus inches out of square and all work done by Garret has had to be redone. We are pursing legal action against JDC Construction and Garret Melton personally. My hope in this review is for Montana Residents and families to beware of JDC Construction and Garret Melton. Do not support or hire Garret Melton as your contractor.

BEWARE THIS CONTRACTOR IS A THIEF! HE STOLE OUR MONEY. Made an agreement with Garrett Melton to dry in and build a cabin in Lakeside. Sent $38k of money orders (receipt confirmed and documented). Project was stopped and texts and recordings confirm $18k worth of work completed in material and labor. Balance of $20K to be returned agreed upon. He returned $6k and also on a recorded line and texts agreed to pay back $14k and gave pay off dates which we agreed upon. These dates passed and he STOPPED ANSWERING MY CALLS AND TEXTS and all communication. We are a retired couple using our savings. We have been scammed by this guy. We also found out by a private investigator he purchased high ticket items at Christmas, to include a motorcycle, when he didn't pay us back our money. We are now having to pursue civil action and criminal charges are in progress. STAY FAR AWAY FROM HIM AND HIS COMPANY!!!! Look up his company name under the Montana Office of Consumer Protection of the AG's office and read our thoroughly documented and evidence supported complaint.
