Based out of New York, couple and co-founders of Shoppe Lula Mae, Erika Forlini and Joe DiScala, created an online clothing boutique, with the goal of changing the way women perceive their own bodies. "At Shoppe Lula Mae, you're not a number, you're an icon."
Erika spent her life finding inspiration from the style icons of the 1950's and 60's. In 2013 Erika and Joe decided it was time to open an online clothing boutique inspired by her favorite style icons of the 1950's and 60's. Erika wanted to bring sexy, sleek and sophisticated clothing to women of all shapes and sizes. Joe, a graphic designer, was on board with this idea for the start! And they started Shoppe Lula Mae out of their attic apartment in Mahopac, NY.
"Perhaps the most important thing to understand about Shoppe Lula Mae is why our size chart is different. At Shoppe Lula Mae, we believe that style comes in all shapes and sizes. We know of so many women who cut the tags out of their clothes, bearing their size, because they want to wear what fits, without having to be labeled by a number or a size. So we took this idea and we ran with it! We've replaced the standard "Small, Medium, Large" size chart with the names of our favorite style icons, that have proved to the world, that style doesn't come in any particular shape or size. We've even added fun and inspiring quotes from our favorite style icons, that best represent their views on their measurements that they were proud to have!" -Forlini
Fun Fact:
Shoppe Lula Mae is inspired by Audrey Hepburn's real name is Breakfast at Tiffany's.
