He recognizes the importance of patients and doctors as partners, working closely together to create better results. Seeking to restore the eroding doctor-patient relationship, Dr. Gerrish has created a unique concierge Gastroenterology practice. This practice model allows for a more personalized experience, availability in times of need, free exchange of ideas, and a focus on preventative care. Ultimately, this can lead to healthier, happier, more fulfilling lives. Born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Gerrish is a proud graduate of Evanston Township High School, one of the top public high schools in the nation. He then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from The University of Iowa in beautiful Iowa City, Iowa. Knowing that he wanted to be involved in healthcare in some capacity, Dr. Gerrish then traveled to Washington, D.C. to receive his Masters in Public Health from The George Washington University. It was at this point that he decided that his calling was to pursue a career as a physician, and subsequently achieved a Medical Doctor degree from Saba University School of Medicine. Finally, Dr. Gerrish completed an Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology & Hepatology fellowship at the esteemed Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana. He proudly served as chief fellow during his final year of fellowship. Dr. Gerrish is currently board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Since finishing his medical training in 2008, Dr. Gerrish has practiced medicine in a variety of environments - teaching medical trainees, employed by a community hospital, and private practice in a multispecialty group. Despite the very different practice models, Dr. Gerrish consistently noticed that the one underlying theme was that patients want and expect more from their doctors. It was this realization that led Dr. Gerrish to create this unique Gastroenterology concierge practice - Gerrish Gastroenterology, P.L.
