THE FIRST STEP: ask your customer to drop their car off for "just an estimate". Use phrases like "Don't worry we'll take care of everything!" THE SECRET SAUCE: Ask them to sign a legal document so long and verbose no one actually reads it. Now, you've got them! BE BOLD: Estimate a cost of repair that is so high no sane insurance company or individual would every pay it. LET IT SIMMER: Slowly, very slowly, negotiate the cost of repairs with the insurance company. Claim that you're fighting for the consumer. File a supplement.Then another. After that, file another supplement. If the last supplement doesn't work, then file another supplement. THE PIECE DE RESISTANCE: Now that you've had the car for 5 weeks, you've racked up thousands of dollars in storage fees! Either the insurance company pays an exorbitant cost for the repair, or you hold the car hostage until the customer pays the charges! It's just that easy! Congratulations Three-C Body Shop!
