I cannot believe she caught 'shown' when it should have been 'shone'. The 'hairbrush dropping into the sink' paragraph had vexed me through three read-throughs before I sent it her way. I knew something was wrong, but did not know what. She made a suggestion that smoothed out the entire important scene.
