I was on the property for over a year and a half before it changed owners, and while the new owners seemed ok at first, we traded one crazy in for two. Dan and Jenny Root may appear nice to your face, but they will talk about you behind your back, spread rumors about their boarders, and accuse you of stealing things to guests they have over. Make sure ALL of your belongings are labeled, otherwise you will be accused of stealing. Oh, and be prepared to be judged if you don't conform or agree to their religious beliefs and practices.
Their horsemanship is sub-par at best. Dan is absolutely clueless when it comes to horses, leaving halters on in stalls and turnouts (if he even grabbed the correct halter for your horse), and just generally aloof. Jenny thinks she knows everything due to "fifty plus years of experience" yet cannot tell when horses are lame or in pain, and that's only the beginning of her incompetence. If you aren't a fan of Clinton Anderson or Pat Parelli, don't even bother. She insists that she is a trainer but all she's successful at doing is "join up" with the horses.
You're better taking your money elsewhere. The prices are too steep and they have kicked boarders out to raise the board even more.

Peacehaven Equestrian Center between Vista and Bonsall can be reached at 360-201-3961. Current rates are updated on their website at www.peacehavenequestrian.com and the 5 acre well-shaded ranch is the highest quality horse boarding facility for the lowest cost to you and your horse in the area! The entire staff is dedicated to excellence in quality care for your horse. Both Western and English riding and training is available. Large paddocks and stalls are well cleaned once or twice per day and feeding is done 2 to 3 times per day with excellent no-cost well water supplied constantly. Supplements are also delivered as requested along with grain and special diets as desired. Turnouts are available as requested along with many other services. Rates are well below market and trail riders are attracted to Peacehaven because no trailering is required to reach many trails for vast distances throughout the Bonsall, Vista and Fallbrook regions. No training is required if you board your horse at Peacehaven. However, clinics and shows are provided along with free membership to the very reputable Vista Palomar Riding Club next door. I highly recommend reviewing the website and visiting the facility at your earliest convenience if they have any openings for boarders and the wait list is not too long!
