Academy of Martial Science is a Fight Team based out of Boyle Heights, Los Angeles Ca. We teach Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Self Defense. Academy of Martial Science is a Fight Team based out of Boyle Heights, Los Angeles Ca. We teach Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Self Defense, and Personal Fitness. Mixed Martial Arts is the combination of the most useful concepts a specific Martial Art has to offer.
At AMS the Disciplines we study are Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, and Kickboxing. The combination of these Martial Arts produces an unparalleled form of self defense, effective regardless of size or strength. One of the reasons our program is so effective is because we focus on grappling based arts, this allows us to use our own Weight and Leverage against an opponent rather then strength.
Aside from being extremely effective, Grappling based arts allow you the option to control or subdue an attacker, rather then just hit them. In addition to learning self defense you will improve strength, weight loss, cardio, balance, coordination, flexibility, focus and confidence.
Our Goal is to create an environment in which the community can have fun learning effective Martial Arts without developing a false sense of security.
