Whether you've purchased your upholstered or furniture piece from 1stdibs.com, Chairish.com, Craigslist.com or a local dealer and it needs new life or your brand of "je ne sais quoi", Brooklyn Workroom has the refinisher or upholsterer with the skill to make your furniture project awesome!
Brooklyn Workroom craftsmen are experts in reupholstering and refinishing a wide range of period furniture pieces using many of the same techniques used in the piece’s original construction and finish. Finishing techniques such as French polish are preferred instead of a high gloss clear lacquer spray commonly used in restoration projects and generally on furniture today. Whenever possible, the materials that where originally employed in a piece’s construction will be used. For instance a chair’s seat cushion might contain horsehair. Replacing this material with the same is favored to retain the chairs monetary and historical value rather than replacing the horsehair with foam.
Brooklyn Workroom craftsmen are capable in handling and working on pieces from any period, designer or manufacturer. Period pieces such as William and Mary, Chippendale, Victorian, Empire, Biedermeier, Mission, Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern and Danish, Hollywood Regency, Italian Modern and Contemporary furniture pieces.
Brooklyn Workroom is completive. We will meet or beat a competitor's quote.
