I bought a Red Oak tree from CTF last year. It was a 65 gallon Red Oak. It was not staked down. Storms came and blew it over. I called the tree farm and asked them to fix the issue. It took them 12 days from my call to come out and stake the tree. That’s right. It wasn’t done the first time! They used small metal wires to keep it straight. A 65 gallon guys. This wasn’t some tiny tree. That tree died a week later and it took me having to threaten them with social media exposure to even replace the tree. The lady who handles their accounts stated they don’t guarantee their trees and technically they didn’t really have to do anything about it. Even though they admitted to being at fault for not securing the tree down. So I threatened them again. I actually bought 3 trees and 2 plants that same day. Our 65 gallon and 2 35 gallons for our backyard. None of my trees were staked down. They had no idea who even completed my job. I was eventually told that whoever was supposed to be out here subcontracted the job out. Management told us they never contract jobs out. Long story short we got another tree from them. It was staked down and that tree died 3 days later as well. Turns out after talking to another company that it wasn’t planted properly and too much mulch was piled on top to create a volcano. The tree would have never survived no matter what we did. We are $900 down and having to purchase another tree. This time we will take our business to Fannin Tree Farm where they DO guarantee their work and will not contract their jobs out. I’d advise you all to look elsewhere even if it isn’t at Fannin. Make sure you don’t make my same mistake and go elsewhere because it’s cheaper and will arrive quicker!
