Everyone encounters problems and difficulties in their lives, but what makes people different is the way they deal with challenges. Unfortunately, I was one of the persons that never knew how to manage insecurities and emotions. If someone said something mean to me, I would die a little inside. What other people thought of me became so important that I was actually living my life according to other people’s wishes. This was one of the things that triggered my social awkwardness, my fear of everything new and different, as well as my desire to punish myself for every flaw I found in me. All of these problems would have ended up killing me if it weren’t for Dr. Brett. He was the one who guided me towards the good in my life and made me see the real me. All my insecurities disappeared one by one as I started following his recommendations. In addition to this, I believe that a very important thing in my recovery was the fact that Dr. Brett himself is an accomplished man who has succeeded on his own. This gave me power and confidence that someday I will be able to be as happy as he is.

I used to have a gambling problem. I started in high school and by the time I got married I already had huge debts to pay. This affected all aspects of my life. I had very few friends left, my parents were not speaking to me, and my wife was about to leave me if I wouldn’t have changed something. So, I searched help, and I have heard of Dr. Brett. A colleague of mine from work used to go to him and she recommended him as the best psychologist I could ever find. And indeed, he proved to be a tremendous help and dug deep into my thoughts and words in order to find out what was behind this gambling addiction. He changed my life. It was an experience that showed me how much I missed in my life, and how badly I want to get back all that I lost. I find Dr. Brett to be extraordinary. Every time I went to see him I felt this strong connection and confidence which made me feel safe because I knew the advice I would get was going to bring me one step closer to the person I wanted to be.
