When I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in 2000, I was working as a Quality Control Technician at a paint factory and had to have major surgery to have my left lung removed and told by my Doctor to choose another field of work. I filed a workman's comp claim citing an Occupational Illness. The company chose not to give me light-duty or find me another line of work away from the paint fumes but instead I had to use up all my sick and annul leave plus my 401K savings in order to survive. Convinced that they weren't going to do anything unless I dropped my claim I called LegalShield and used my membership to see what they could do.
