Headwater's treatment systems use vapor compression distillation (VCD) technology to separate clean water (distillate) from dirty water (influent). System processing rates can scale from 100-gallons/hour to 10,000 gallons/hour per unit. Applications include: produced water (concurrent with oil & natural gas extraction), waste water from food & beverage processing and desalination of sea water. Headwater's treatment systems have the capacity to operate to near-saturation of total dissolved solids (TDS) levels of 320,000 ppm with a yield rate of 80-90% distillate and power consumption of only 100 watt-hours/gallon. Headwater's VCD systems extend well beyond existing reverse osmosis (RO) technology TDS limits of 50,000 ppm and its yield rate of 10-30% with comparable power consumption.
