Fine art drawings and paintings, including landscapes, still life, floral, portraits. Commissions welcomed! Portraits from live model and good photos. Sonsoles is an artist at heart, although she has worked in the field of cancer research for 25 years. Her commitment to the fight against cancer spills out into her art. In 2010 she donated a painting to be auctioned at the Tea for Teal fundraiser event for the fight of ovarian cancer (the Anne Rita Monahan Foundation). For the 2012 Tea for Teal event she painted a posthumous portrait of Anne. Sonsoles' oil paintings reveal her fascination with light and contrasts. Her still life and landscapes are mysterious and poetic. Her portraits exude beauty and serenity. "My goal is to bring the character and inner beauty of the sitter." She has recently won two awards by the Portrait Artists of Arizona. A percentage of all profits are donated to cancer research.
