Beware if you perspire or get these coins wet! My husband bought a pendant at a street fair in Vienna 2-3 years ago, and wore it occasionally. It developed a dull coating over time just from wear. (Perspiration? Maybe his skin is acidic?) We accepted that. But then it got wet, and afterward there was a gray streak down the middle of the painted coin under the now dullish coating. He stopped wearing it, and thought we were out of luck, having bought it at a street festival. Then I saw Mr. Zeevi last year selling coins in the Pentagon (they rent space to vendors for 1-2 weeks at a time) and told him about it . He told me to bring it in and show it to him, and that he would replace it. I was unable to do it at that time but a few months ago he was back at the Pentagon, and I did take it in. Not only did he refuse to replace the coin or refund our money, he also refused to believe that it was his coin, that would discolor, or that he had previously told me that he would make it right. I should have taken in the receipt, which I did not think was necessary, as his work is so distinctive. I washed my hand of him and that time and promised to find a way to tell people what happened.
