UPHOLSTERY FIRM TO STOP DOING BUSINESS IN UTAH The Utah Department of Commerce's Division of Consumer Protection has ordered Legacy Upholstery of Salt Lake City to stop doing business in Utah. Division investigators charge that the company's owner, Rory Dean, has violated the Consumer Sales Practice Act by using deceptive sales practices, refusing to give refunds and by misrepresenting several business ventures.Dean allegedly offered to provide services to customers, including the repair and upholstering of furniture, for which he either required a deposit or payment in full before beginning the work. Repeatedly, however, he failed to finish the work but kept the money anyway, according to the division. Anyone who feels they have been victimized by Legacy Upholstery, Dean or any other business venture Dean was associated with is being asked to call the division at 530-6601.
