I came into the Recording Connection not knowing anything, to joining the program, then learning daily studio chores, being responsible for all of the equipment and space, running my own live sessions, assisting and running live events, assisting my mentor in the recording/production field, as well as also seeing my mentor and another engineer help out re-building a patch bay. Now, since I have graduated the program, I have continued to work with my mentors' studio, which is now separate from the Recording Connection program. My mentor's have promoted me the head intern, handling multiple assistants that help me set up and double check if everything is connected and set rite.
Seeing and experiencing the work of a professional recording studio being built from the ground up has been very valuable, and I feel that not too many people get to really experience and understand what is put into growing a business to such a success, overcoming the long hours, high expenses, and pushing through to increase the revenue and clientele of the company. I remember very clearly that, at the end of every lesson that I and everyone else was one trait that stood out from both of my mentor's was that they don't give up on anyone or anything. I've experienced a lot from them. I am truly thankful for choosing this path and if it wasn't for the Recording Connection I'd probably still wouldn't know how to start. Recording connection really gave me my first door inside this industry.

I have encountered a lot of cool rap artists and band members these past weeks. Being involved in these sessions is really getting me comfortable with working with different types of people and seeing how my mentor handles situations that arise. I think that I will only get better due to his awesome knowledge and the knowledge that some of the people just throw your way.
