Copper Canyon highlights include Tarahumara festivities over Easter (Semana Santa), Dia de la Virgin (December 12), and Christmas (Noche Buena), a 50 mile (80km) ultramathon the first Sunday in March, August culinary event at the San Juanito mushroom festival, various patron saint's days, world class birding, and wild rivers at the bottom of mile high canyon walls.
