Our grandparents and kin before them lived and thrived without electricity, but not all of us have land to plant vegetables, fruit, access to shallow water pumps/wells, and other on-site items to assure self-sufficiency. If supply trucks cannot reach the stores, roads are inaccessible, you live in an apartment building.....first and foremost is the health, safety, and survival of you and your family.
