I called Jim to cut a new key for my vehicle. He declined to come that afternoon, citing his schedule and the late hour, not wanting to work outside after dusk. I agreed, not liking to work after dark myself, we agreed he would come at 10 a.m. the next day.
He arrived on time, performed the work requested, after talking to my oldest daughter, installing a new ignition switch. That done, he was paid, and left.
We then took the truck out to run errands. At which time we discovered that
- Neither left nor right turn-signal functioned.
- The four-way flashers were not functional.
- The four-way flashers came on when the brake pedel was depressed.
I called Mr. Porter. I told him the problems listed above, that none of the problems were present before he installed the new ignition. Citing his workload, he declined to make an appointment. He promised he would call the next day with a time, and come by to take a look at the problem that day.
The next day, July 9, at approximately 3:00 p.m., I called Mr. Porter. At that time he flatly stated he 'didn't break the truck' and hung up on me. I called him back several times, each time the call went to voice mail. I left a voice mail stating that I 'wanted the problem made right and to call me back' or words to that effect.
Several minutes later my wife called Mr. Porter. He told her he didn't break the truck, and hung up.
