I needed a very early pickup from Albany Hills to San Francisco Airport for an early International flight for me and my 8 year old son. I called 5 limousine companies and 2 were not willing to pick us up at 3:30 AM. Three companies offered to do it for a $20 to $25 surcharge. They stated it is a common procedure to charge extra for service rendered between 11:00PM AND 5:00AM. The quotes varied between $125 and $167. One quote included the base rate, a license fee, bridge toll, airport fee, a fuel surcharge, a 20% gratuity. The last one I called was City Sights Limo. The manager, Benjamin, stated that his procedure is to charge the taxi rate and nothing else. When I asked about gratuity, he said that is completely up to the customer. I booked a One way trip to the airport for $85. On the morning of the trip, I received a text message at 3:15AM informing me the driver was in my driveway, ready to go when I was. He helped with luggage, assisted my child buckling up and we had a smooth ride with sounds of Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald among others. I so enjoyed the ride that I asked to book the return trip. I had planned to take a taxi from SFO on the way back. At SFO, I was pulling my VISA to pay for the ride when the driver suggested we settle everything when I return. And we did. 8 days later. $85 plus a voluntary $17 tip each way. FLAWLESS!
