I met w Deirdre Mohret from BASC early in the year to discuss my two companies accounting needs. Despite being slightly turned off by her unflattering comments relating to a competitor and past business associate ( Taxanista ) … Deidre gave a generally good first impression and decided to engage the firm to do tax returns and ongoing bookkeeping. During the months we worked with BASC there were several instances where perceivable to me….. The firms responsibilities were not met. Important to mention that BASC deems themselves justified in charging top dollar for their services…. So I would expect performance to be commensurate with the nearly $1000 per month in cumulative fees. I finally made the decision to change firms based upon a combination of non performance and hefty fees. HERE is where it got interesting.Deidre almost immediately transformed into a nasty controlling personality. Despite my accounting fees being paid a month in advance… Deirdre abruptly disconnected my remote online Quickbooks access and refused to allow me to obtain backup copies of my files. Then I received a threatening email from her attorney alluding to legal actions that they could take if I air my EXTREMELY unpleasant experience online. I am currently faced with re entering every transaction from 2014 for both companies unless I sign a ridiculous NDA that her attorney has sent over.
