Sharpe Construction does not show up when they say they will and will abandon your project for another project if they have something bigger and better elsewhere to do. I engaged them to build a wall with a 'time is of essence' provision and a deadline of Sep. 30. They came up with one excuse after another why they could not show. They said that the owner had dental work for a full week. A full week? Then he had an emergency project elsewhere, etc. Then they said that if I wanted mortar on the walls I would have to pay 18% more than the contract price, even though mortar was included in the project. We had extra mortar from another part of the project with another mason, so we offered that for free, but they still refused to come. For the last 5 weeks, they have showed only 4 times to work on the wall despite the specified deadline. Eventually they just abandoned the job. I regret paying so much up front.
