I practice from a position of unconditional positive regard. Working collaboratively with each client to focus the direction of each session. I work from a solution-focused perspective and believe people are capable of solving their problems with a bit of guidance. I know a lot of people think they aren't capable. I am coming to see you because I can't solve this. You have recognized a problem, you are searching for ways to that fix problem and you understand that you need help; to me that sounds like you are capable. I firmly believe people are experts in their own lives, it is not for me to pass opinions, judgments or decide how a client should change. We will work together and collaboratively to discover which changes are best for the clients life.
