I started taking photographs in 1961 with my fathers Kodak Brownie. In 1964 I was given a Leica M3. I experimented with instant cameras and by 1978 had a Canon 35 mm SLR, used until 1988. I now use a Nikon exclusively. I have been an oil painter since 1970 and studied Canadian art history under Roger Mesley at Malvern. In 1970, I had the honour to meet A.Y.
