SMICO or Southwest Milling and Industrial Company history rivals that of any other American screener manufacturer for respect and longevity. Our history can be traced all the way back to 1937 and beyond. During the early days, the company was called Productive Equipment and was located in Chicago, IL. Productive Equipment was the leader in screening and classification equipment for the many milling and feed operations that surrounded the booming city in those days.
The Symons Brothers started the screen company in North Hollywood, California, where they operated for over 66 years designing and building thousands of screens and shipping the world wide. In 1999 Symons was purchased by XMS Equipment Company and relocated to Tempe, Arizona. Symons was moved one more time in 2009 to its current home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after being purchased by SMICO Manufacturing. SMICO acquired Symons Screens to add a well-known aggregate presence to its already full line of vibratory screeners, feeders and conveyors. SMICO currently manufacturers new parts and screens for Symons Screens and can repair and support all Symons Screens and some Symons designed Nordberg Screens.

Kason Corporation designs, develops, distributes and manufactures screening, processing equipment and related products for bulk solid materials, slurries and related products. Our units handle dry or wet separations based on particle size. Our equipment line includes: Vibrating circular screeners (Vibroscreens), centrifugal screeners (Centri-Sifters), Fluid Bed Dryer/Coolers, static sieves, spheroidizers and in-line pneumatic screeners.
Kason Corporation began operation in Paramus in 1967 with just two employees and within ten years grew to 10 employees and continued to grow to where we are today, 48 employees. Although we have outgrown two of our facilities we remained in the state of New Jersey with every move.
From the start, Kason's cultural bias was to supply process equipment
