Flemish Lion LLC, the Vermont-based and woman-owned importing & wholesale company of authentic Belgian genever, was founded in 2010 by Veronique Beittel - Van Acker, an entrepreneur, free spirit and native of Belgium who craved her homeland's national spirit after moving from Flanders, Belgium to the United States in 2002. After searching the U.S., Veronique realized the only way she would be able to enjoy her favorite drink was to import it herself. In 2010 she was inspired to quit her corporate job as a Sr. Strategic Marketing Manager with a Fortune 500 company and move to Vermont, a state that values handcrafted products and a lifestyle driven by simple pleasures, and started importing Belgium's finest handcrafted genevers, founding Flemish Lion LLC.
