The Security Group Corp. is an integrated electronic security and automation company dedicated to the design, sale, installation, programming, service, monitoring and maintenance of electronic security and automation systems.

Our company offers state-of-the-art security and automation products such as: closed circuit television (CCTV), burglar alarm, access control, fire detection, paging, sound, intercom, lighting control and climate control systems, among a host of other security and automation related products.

Our company was founded on May 19, 1999 under the name of “Star Electrical Services & General Supplies, Inc.”. The goal of the company is to perform electrical acceptance and maintenance testing for new and existing equipment. In 1987, Eng. Abelardo Hernandez began his professional carreer with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) in the generating plant division. In 1992 he assumed the responsibilities of superintendent of the generating plant division. In this position he acquired knowledge on the electrical testing field, on distribution substations, as well as transmissions and generators. Mr. Hernandez realized that the electrical testing is a field that fascinated him. He felt limited within the field of electrical engineering and decided to leave his position as superintendent to dedicate time and effort on creating and establishing his own company. Star Electrical began offering services in the eastern part of the island and quickly expanded throughout the island. Eventually services extended to the Caribbean, Latin America and the United States. Star Electrical employs fourteen permanent employees; which consists of four electrical engineers, three administrative, and seven technicians. Part time personnel are also employed. Over the years, new services have been added to our portfolio that enable us to compile a comprehensive professional staff on electrical solutions that equal or exceed those provided by other organizations in Latin America and the United States. The “birth” of our company stems from the persistence of a group of visionary professionals joined by a firm commitment to impart their knowledge and expertise to their client base. Star Electrical has overcome all challenges and is able to fulfill the expectations of our select group of clients. Our organization prides itself on key values.
