HLR's programs focus on increasing student success for diverse learners through: Summer Academic Enrichment Camps, Teacher Professional Development, and Community Education Workshops. Summer Academic Enrichment Camps provide students in grades 2 to 8 with access to a two-week camp designed to increase struggling student's engagement in school and increase their learning and social skills through hands-on and team activities; Teacher Professional Development is provided to educators who participate in the summer camps and uses a mentoring model to increase their skills and knowledge to help them work more effectively with diverse learners; Community Education Workshops are offered free to families and educators of diverse learners.
