The land has been with this family for over 150 years, so it is mostly home to memories. Through the generations this land provided fields for harvest, gardens for food, and woods for fun and adventure for the people who lived here and their many friends and family. It is not surprising that it has come to be used as a venue at this pivotal time in its history.
The current home was built by Dr. Dan Spangler in 1993. He was an Emergency Department physician in the Shoals for many years and desired to provide a home for his family on his family property. He wanted a place to invite coworkers for relaxation and a place that was large enough to accommodate big family reunions. So, the sharing of the property with those celebrating was begun.
