Mommy and Me is a wonderful introduction to a preschool atmosphere with the comfort of mommy, daddy, or caretaker present. Mommy and Me offers an environment that will enhance early learning, build socialization skills, and increase confidence and independence. While our program is designed for this purpose, it is important to realize that mom or dad and child will be spending special, joyful times together. Why Mommy and Me? Mommy and Me is directed by early childhood educators and taught by warm and loving individuals. Mommy and Me is the initiator of PRE preschool programs, not an imitator. In 2009 founder Kerri Q. created The Fashion Class as an after school program for children attending one private school in Manhattan. After the class doubled (and then tripled) in size she decided to branch out! That summer, once school had ended, The Fashion Class was born as a fashion summer camp in Brooklyn, NY. The campers made all kinds of fabulous clothes & accessories and wanted to continue in the fall. The Fashion Class kept growing and adding classes, teachers, and new fun sewing projects. The first Manhattan class opened in 2011. We now offer classes in Midtown Manhattan, the UWS, UES, and Carroll Gardens Brooklyn for children and teenagers ages 6 through 17 years old.Check us out in Time Out NY Kids, NY Magazine, Pix 11 news and NY1 where we've been featured as a NYC parent's pick! The Fashion Class offers 8-13 week courses in fashion design, sewing, illustration and creativity.Courses run during the Fall, Winter and Spring seasons for children starting at age 6 through age 17. Classes are divided by age group.Our fashion design summer camp runs throughout July and August plus we have a variety of camps and activities during the school holidays and breaks. At the end of each class we hold a free fashion show for parents and friends. Our students walk our exclusive light-up runway in their own creations. It’s a fun and fabulous way to see what we’ve been working on.Students work on simple sewing machines that are easy to use and equipped with needle guards for extra safety. All supplies are included in our fee and all students keep their creations. Our amazing instructors work in the fashion industry as apparel, costume, and accessory designers as well as fashion illustrators whose clients range from Sesame Street to Target! Our student/teacher ratio is always 5:1 in classes and camps.
