As a relatively new designer to the Charlotte area, Elayne (owner of Celedore) was surprised to not find an accessible source for higher quality wallpapers. Her years as a professional Interior Designer in Ohio and Tennessee taught her a love of fine wallpaper. “There are design aspects that can only be created with wallpaper. Designing without wallpaper is like dressing in beautiful silk, wool, and cashmere but not wearing any jewelry or accessories. The art of wallpapers helps to give richness and depth to good design whether it is traditional, transitional, or modern.” The beginning of Celedore Fine Wallpapers started with a trip to Atlanta on yet another fine wallpaper search. Elayne and architect husband, Doug decided to bring the beautiful resources usually only available through professional designers to the Charlotte public. “Because of the accessibility of design ideas from sources like Houzz and an array of quality design books and magazines, many Charlotte residents want to design on their own. There are many projects that benefit from the assistance of a professionally trained Interior Designer but there are many reasons that some individuals wish to proceed with the support of the retail design community. I hope to support both professional designers and the do-it-yourself homeowners. The important thing is to have the access to quality and style not previously found here in Charlotte.” Elayne hopes to become a valued resource and will continue to research new trends and lines in the world of fine wallpapers so that Charlotte homes can continue to become the beautiful spaces where love and family reside.
