The Kentucky Center for African American Heritage is a cultural arts, history, and educational institution dedicated to preserving, presenting, and celebrating the history, heritage, and cultural contributions of African Americans in Kentucky and throughout the African Diaspora. Located in Louisville's historic Russell neighborhood, KCAAH occupies the historic Louisville Street Railway Complex and overlooks the former Old Walnut Street, once a thriving center of Black business and culture. Through exhibitions, education, visual and performing arts, historic preservation, community programs, and cultural tourism, KCAAH preserves the past, inspires future generations, and provides a vital platform for African American history and culture.
